Disclaimer and disclosures
Effective Oct 29, 2026
1. General disclaimer
CompareCDRate.com is an informational comparison and marketing website. We are not a bank, credit union, lender, broker-dealer, investment adviser, or financial, legal, or tax adviser. We don’t accept deposits, hold funds, issue CDs, open accounts, or carry out transactions.
2. Advertising and compensation
This site is supported by advertising. We may be paid by banks, credit unions, brokerages, or marketing partners — for example, when a consumer is connected with a provider or opens an account. That compensation may affect which providers appear, their order, and their prominence. We don’t review every provider or product, so our listings are not a complete picture of the market.
3. No offer, no guarantee
Nothing on this site is an offer, solicitation, commitment, or recommendation to buy or sell any financial product. Submitting a form doesn’t reserve a rate or guarantee eligibility, approval, availability, provider contact, or any financial outcome.
4. Rates and APYs
Rates and APYs are compiled from published sources and may have changed since our last review. The display date on each listing is today’s date (U.S. Eastern Time) and does not mean a rate was verified on that date. Institution names are not displayed on the site; they are shared directly with you after you inquire. The issuing institution sets the actual rate, term, minimum deposit, compounding, payout schedule, penalties, and fees, and its account documents control in any conflict.
5. FDIC and NCUA insurance
Eligible deposits may be insured by the FDIC (banks) or the NCUA (credit unions) up to $250,000 per depositor, per insured institution, per ownership category, subject to recordkeeping requirements and aggregation with your other deposits at the same institution. Coverage is determined by the institution’s insurer, not by us. CompareCDRate.com is not a bank or credit union and is not insured.
6. Brokered CDs
Brokered CDs are issued by banks and held through a brokerage account. They generally can’t be redeemed early with the issuer; selling before maturity happens on a secondary market and may result in a loss. Some are callable. The brokerage provides full terms before any purchase.
7. Educational content and tools
Articles, FAQs, the maturity planner, calculator, and ladder builder are for general education. Their results are estimates based on your inputs and do not reflect any actual offer, interest calculation, or account terms.
8. Third-party providers and links
Providers and websites we link to are independent. They are responsible for their own products, rates, disclosures, and compliance. We don’t endorse or guarantee any provider or the accuracy of its information.
